#341 - Claude Giroux


Giroux took over the role as first line centre for the club at the beginning of the 2011-12 hockey season. He would end the season as both the Flyers' top regular season point-scorer (93 points) and top playoff point scorer (17 points).

#350 - Sean Couturier


Couturier was drafted eighth overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

He would make an impression during training camp and start the 2011–12 season with the Flyers. Couturier was one of the youngest players to participate in the NHL All-Star Game festivities, named on the rookie team and participating in the skills competition.

#47 - Jonas Hiller


Hiller posted a 29-30-12 record during the 2011-12 NHL season, recording 4 shutouts.

#50 - Sheldon Souray


Souray was signed by the Dallas Stars on July 1, 2011, to a one-year contract. Having recovered from his injuries, Souray made a successful comeback with the Stars, taking on more of a defensive role than in the recent past, particularly at even strength. However, he continued to still see plenty of ice time on the power play.

On November 4, 2011, Souray reached a milestone when he scored the 100th NHL goal of his career in a 7–6 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

#471 - Mike Ribeiro


The 2011-12 season would be Ribeiro's last as a member of the Dallas Stars. He would be traded to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Cody Eakin and a 2012 second-round draft pick (54th overall) during the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

#497 - Award Winners, Brian Campbell


Brian Campbell became the first defenceman since Red Kelly in the 1953–54 season to win the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy for sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.

#56 - Tyler Seguin


Tyler Seguin would explode in his sophomore season registering 29 goals and 67 points in 81 games as a member of the Bruins.

On November 5, 2011, Seguin scored his first career NHL hat-trick against the team that traded the draft pick to the Bruins, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

#4 - Season Highlight, Bobby Ryan

#208 - Tomas Kopecky


The 2011-12 NHl season would be Tomas Kopecky's first in the 'Sunshine State'. Suiting up for the Panthers in 80 regular season games, Kopecky would score 10 goals and register 32 points.

#477 - Dustin Byfuglien


Byfuglien scored 12 goals along with 41 assists during the 2011–12 season that saw the Thrashers move to Winnipeg. He appeared in 66 games for the Jets that season.

#527 - Hot Rookies, Cody Goloubef


Goloubef would get his first taste of NHL action during the 2011-12 season, seeing the ice for a single NHL game.

#230 - Jarret Stoll


On June 11, 2012, Stoll won his first Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings, their first championship in history of the franchise, against the New Jersey Devils.

He re-signed with the Kings for three years and $9.75 million on June 25, 2012.

#144 - Peter Mueller


Mueller spent the majority of the 2011-12 NHL season on the IR, suffering from both post-concussion syndrome and a groin injury. He would return to the Colorado lineup during January and suit up for 32 games notching 7 goals and 16 points to finish the season.

After the conclusion of a two-year contract that was decimated by injury with the Colorado Avalanche - he would not receive a a qualifying offer prior to the opening of NHL free agency on July 1, 2012, making him an unrestricted free agent. On July 11, 2012 Mueller signed a one-year, $1.725 million contract with the Florida Panthers.

#107 - Jiri Tlusty


Tlusty set career highs with 18 goals and 36 points during the 2011-12 NHL season; playing in 79 games for the Carolina Hurricanes. He was re-signed by the Hurricanes to a two-year contract worth $3.2 million.

#305 - Evgeni Nabokov


Nabokov saw his first action on Long Island with the New York Islanders during the 2011-12 season after being claimed off waivers in January 22, 2011.

He would start in 42 games etching a record of 19-18-3.

#474 - Mathieu Perreault


2011-12 was Mathieu Perreault's first full season in the NHL. As a member of the Washington Capitals he would registered 16 goals and 30 points in 64 regular season games.

#402 - Alexander Steen


Steen would play only 43 games for the Blues during the 2011-12 regular season, missing 39 games due to concussion syndrome.

In those 43 games Steen would register 15 goals and 28 points. He would play all 9 post season games with St. Louis, tallying another goal and 2 assists.

#3 - Season Highlight, Anze Kopitar


During the season opener faceoff between the Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers in Stockholm on October 7, 2011 - Kopitar spoiled the show for Henrik Lundqvist, notching a goal and an assist in a Kings' 3-2 overtime win.

#407 - T.J. Oshie


In 2011–12, Oshie led the St. Louis Blues (tied with David Backes) in total points with a career high 54; 19 goals and 35 assists. 

Oshie would also suit up for his 200th career NHL game on November 17, 2011 and record his 100th career assist on February 16, 2012.

#242 - Nick Johnson


In the 2011–12 season, Johnson earned a regular checking line role on the Wild, playing in a career high 77 games to recorded 8 goals and 26 points.

Despite his successful season with the Wild, Johnson was released as a free agent and on July 11, 2012, he was signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Phoenix Coyotes.

#367 - Antoine Vermette


Antoine Vermette split the 2011-12 season between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Phoenix Coyotes. He was sent to the Phoenix Coyotes on February 22, 2012 in exchange for goalie Curtis McElhinney, a 2012 second-round pick and a conditional 2013 fifth-round pick.

He would go on to score five goals with five assists for the Coyotes during the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs.

#221 - Anze Kopitar


In the 2011–12 season Kopitar led the Kings in scoring with 76 points, including a career-best 51 assists. Kopitar and Dustin Brown would lead the team in playoff scoring, with each having twenty points in twenty games; eventually capturing the franchises' first Stanley Cup in team history.

Kopitar was the first Slovenian-born player to win the Stanley Cup.

#459 - Dale Weise


Weise enjoyed his first full season in the NHL as a member of the Vancouver Canucks during the 2011-12 NHL season. He scored his first National Hockey League goal in his seventh game with the Canucks (his 17th NHL game overall) on October 20, 2011.

Weise would help provide stability to the team's fourth line, which had gone through 14 different players the previous year.

#223 - Matt Greene


Matt Green would hit the ice for a full 82 game season during the 2011-12 regular season, scoring 4 goals and 15 points. He would also be a solid body during Los Angeles' playoff run, suiting up for an additional 20 games in the playoffs, helping the Kings capture their first Stanley Cup.

#528 - Hot Rookies, J.T. Brown


Brown made his NHL debut during the 2011-12 season. His first game was a Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 overtime win against the Winnipeg Jets.

On April 7, 2012, Brown recorded his first NHL assist in a Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets. It would be his sole point in 5 games with the team that season.

#85 - Brayden McNabb


Brayden McNabb made his National Hockey League debut during the 2011-12 season, playing in 25 games with the Buffalo Sabres. He would score his first NHL goal on December 26, 2011 against Tomas Vokoun of the Washington Capitals.

#307 - Eric Boulton


Eric Boulton spent the 2011-12 NHL season as a member of the New Jersey Devils, suiting up for 51 games and recording 0 points while amassing 115 penalty minutes.

During the following off season, the Devils would buy out the remainder of Boulton's contract and the next day, Boulton signed a one-year deal with the New York Islanders.

#143 - Jean-Sebastien Giguere


Giguere signed a two-year contract and acted as the veteran mentor in the Colorado locker room during the 2011-12 season, especially for the young netminder Semyon Varlamov.

His leadership was key in a four-game home stand in mid December when Varlamov was sidelined for a back ailment. Giguère started all four games and won them all, securing the Avalanche a team record eight straight wins at home. It was the most consecutive home wins the franchise had seen since the Quebec Nordiques won ten straight in 1995, before the club moved to Denver later that year.

Howard put together an impressive record of 35-17-4 during the 2011-12 season as a member of the Detroit Red Wings.

#493 - Award Winners, Henrik Lundqvist


Finishing the 2011-12 NHL regular season with a .930 save percentage and a 1.97 goals against average, Henrik Lundqvist would take home his first Vezina Trophy beating out fellow netminders Jonathan Quick and Pekka Rinne.

#406 - Alex Pietrangelo


The 2011-12 NHL season saw Alex Pietrangelo set career highs in both goals (12) and points (51). He would end the season 3rd on the team in scoring and 1st among blueliners.

#382 - Matt Cooke

During the 2011-12 hockey season, Matt Cooke played a slightly different style of hockey than what he was known for. Cooke scored a career-high 19 goals and posted only 44 penalty minutes, his lowest career total in a full NHL season

#233 - Slava Voynov


Voynov received his first crack at the big leagues during the 2011-12 hockey season suiting up for the Los Angeles Kings in 54 regular season games and 20 post-season games, ultimately winning the Stanley Cup with the team.

#468 - Mike Green


In 2011-12, Green would record his lowest numbers since breaking into the NHL with the Capitals during the 05-06 season. He would only play 32 games due to injury.

With the departure of Christian Ehrhoff, Edler assumed a larger role on the Canuck's blueline in the 2011–12 season. He was selected to play in his first NHL All-Star Game and would also go onto set a career high in all three offensive statistics,

Pavelski raised his own bar and put up a career high of 31 goals during the 2011-12 season. He would finish the season 4th on the Sharks in points with a total of 61 in 82 games.

Martin Biron had a steady 2011-12 hockey season backing up Henrik Lundqvist, stacking a record of 12-6.

During the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs he was called up to the Nashville Predators before their 2nd round series with the Vancouver Canucks, however he did not get into a game.

#506 - Hot Rookies, Mike Connolly

Mike Connolly made his NHL debut against the Minnesota Wild on  March 4, 2012. He would hit the ice with the Colorado Avalanche for a total of just 2 game over the course of the 2011-12 hockey season - as of now, they are the only two games Connolly has experienced in the big show.

#422 - Ryan Malone

Ryan Malone enjoyed a stellar 2011-12 hockey season with the Lightning, notching 20 goals and 48 points in 68 games.

#345 - Jakub Voracek

In his debut season as a Flyer, Voracek set a new career high with 18 goals scored during the 2011–12 season and also scored his first career playoff goal in game one of the Flyers opening round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

#132 - Paul Stastny

Paul Stastny would finish the 2011-12 season second in scoring on the Colorado Avalanche, just 2 points behind Ryan O'Reilly.

#94 - Matt Stajan

During the 2011-12 season, Matt Stajan could not shake the rut he held in the year previous - scoring only 8 goals and 18 points in 61 regular season games. His troubled 2011–12 season was aggravated by a sprained ankle, an injury that caused him to miss 14 games.

However, Stajan finished the season on an offensive high that included scoring his 100th career goal late in the year.

#26 - Season Highlight, Jarome Iginla

Iginla scored his 500th goal on January 7, 2012, against Niklas Bäckström of the Minnesota Wild in a 3–1 victory. He was the 42nd player in league history to achieve the feat, and the 15th to do so with one organization.

#286 - David Clarkson

David Clarkson set career highs during the 2011-12 season, finishing with 30 goals and 46 points. He would also lead the team in penalty minutes with 138.

#322 - Dan Girardi

Dan Girardi played an entire 82 game season in 2011-12, amassing a total of 29 points and a plus/minus rating of 13.

With Marc Staal recovering from post-concussion syndrome, Girardi would take over the reigns as an alternate captain. In Staal's absence, Girardi led all NHL skaters in average time on the ice, averaging nearly 28 minutes a game. His play earned him a spot in the 2012 NHL All-Star Game.

#237 - Dany Heatley

Dany Heatley started the 2011-12 hockey season with a change of scenery, suiting up for the Minnesota Wild for the first time in his career.

While Heatley produced a solid season, scoring 53 points, the Wild ultimately failed to reach the playoffs despite a hot start to the year.
